Have you ever just given up mentally when in a bad position?

Early on in grappling this is much more common but it stays a factor no matter your level. At the end of the day it’s much more fun to drill attacks then it is to drill escapes so not many people are asking to be tossed on bottom side for long periods of class time.

How to make your own cardboard box BJJ gym quick and cheap?

So, you currently have nowhere to train, can’t afford to train, or just want to practice at home for a low cost? I was having the first issue with bits of the second one as well, Cape Breton didn’t have a BJJ club and I didn’t have enough money to even go to Walmart and get those cheap puzzle mats for a home gym.

My solution was simple -> Duct tape & Cardboard!!!

How can I defend against (insert technique here)?

I hear people talk all the time about stopping specific techniques that they are getting caught in– the “how do I avoid getting armbarred?” or “how can I stop getting triangled?” questions. These questions are very common and will be asked no matter what club and what country. Later in your BJJ journey, the question stops being asked, sometimes without ever thinking of the answer. The more you train the less you get caught and the less you get caught the less you think about it.
